Day 1 (5/30/2025) - When the Striped Lines Turned Solid

After leaving Newark in a 7:30pm flight, I arrived to Dublin Airport promptly at 7 in the morning. The lack of sleep due to multiple crying children wasn't enough to dampen my spirits. What did though was the 4 hour wait until our guide for the trip Tim was able to pick up those flying in on the 30th of May.  After exchanging hellos with the other YAs and complaining about our flights, our chariot (a white Ford Transit van) arrived, and we were off to our destination. Well, sort of. Due to one YA delayed in the air, we instead drove to Newbridge Demesne, an old castle surrounded by a park. A cup of coffee and some food gave a second wind to our tired group, and we were treated to a lecture from a local about the soon-to-be sport of the future: croquet. Day 0 - Introduction

Dear Diary…  I’m just kidding, none of that here.  What you DO get is a series of entries describing the activities of the 2025 Young Ambassadors program over the next 14 days from myself, and my camera’s, point of view.  The moments shared here are significant to not only the day itself, but to the social and political makeup of a commonly misunderstood country filled with enough turmoil and complex issues to leave history teachers scratching their heads.  Whe ther you read along, glance at the photos, or tell me where I misspelt somthing, I hope this blog gives each reader a new sense of understanding, and more importantly, a new appreciation for the life and culture of the Land of Saints and Scholars.
